Norwich Science Festival offers a chance to explore the wonders of the universe, meet the scientists whose research has changed our world and debate some big questions with some big-thinkers. In October 2021 the Festival returned to an in-person format based at The Forum, Norwich having been an entirely virtual event in 2020 during the pandemic. Spark was engaged to create and run a social media campaign in the run up to, and during the festival.
We worked on all aspects of the social media campaign from the early strategy stages right through to content capture and delivery during the festival. In that time we created over 200 tweets, 156 Facebook posts, 72 Instagram grid posts, eight days’ worth of Instagram stories and hundreds of photographs. We also shot and edited footage to create seven short videos across the campaign.
We received an overwhelmingly positive response with the post-event reporting demonstrating an uplift in followers and engagement when compared to the previous year, particularly impressive was the 24% increase in Instagram followers over the 11 weeks and a 280% increase in engagement compared to 2020. Following from this success Spark has been engaged by The Forum, Norwich team again to work on the Norfolk Maker’s Festival 2022.
